The photo must be 35 mm wide and 45 mm high, with 14–17 mm between your pupils and the tip of your chin. The corners may be rounded or square.

Light, without shadows
The background must be light and free of shadows, and your whole head — not just your face — must be visible against it.
Face position
Straight on, whole face visible
Your face must be photographed straight from the front with the whole face visible. Both eyes must be completely visible with the pupils clearly showing, and your gaze directed at the camera. Headwear is not permitted, although exceptions can be made.
Lighting
Even, no reflections
Your face must be evenly lit with no shadows on the background. Reflections must not show in glasses, and dark or tinted glasses are not allowed.

Transportstyrelsen sets no maximum age for the photo, but it must be a good likeness of you.
