35 mm wide by 45 mm tall, with your face filling 70–80% of the frame. Digitally, a passport needs at least 768 × 1004 pixels and an ID card at least 492 × 633, either one up to 2.5 MB.

Face position
Head straight, natural expression
The photo shows your whole head from the crown down to the top of your shoulders, with your head straight and untilted. Keep a natural expression without grimacing, your mouth closed, your eyes naturally open and your eyebrows visible and unobscured. A beard is fine if it does not hinder recognition, and jewellery is fine as long as it does not cover the oval of your face.

Even lighting with no shadows. Corrective glasses are allowed provided your eyes are clearly visible; dark glasses require a certificate of disability. Headwear is allowed for religious reasons against a certificate from your religious community, as long as your face stays visible.
